Mary Ellen Iatropoulos, MA, MPS is Director of Education at Children’s Media Project, a youth media education non-profit organization where she designs and implements interdisciplinary media-rich curricula and programs, manages and advises teaching staff, and teaches her own courses in media literacy, writing, critical thinking, and media production. She holds graduate degrees in English and Multicultural/Humanistic Education, and her research interests include popular culture and media studies, postcolonial and critical race theory, and nineteenth-century American literature and culture. She is co-editor of the volume Race and Ethnicity in the Works of Joss Whedon, forthcoming from McFarland Publishers in 2014, and received the Mr. Pointy Award for Best Paper at the 5th Biennial Slayage Conference on the Whedonverses in Vancouver, BC.

Jennifer K. Stuller is a writer, author, scholar, media critic, and feminist pop culture historian. She is the Director of Programming and Events for, as well as a co-founder of, Seattle's own GeekGirlCon; the author of Ink-Stained Amazons and Cinematic Warriors: Superwomen in Modern Mythology (I.B. Tauris, 2010), and the editor of Fan Phenomena: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Intellect, 2013). Additionally, Stuller is a noted public speaker, and a member of Humanities Washington's Speakers Bureau.
